Silent Witness

Starlight twinkling, observant of love
A man, a woman and the sky above
Starlight twinkling, brings hope for a child
An upturned face that’s sweet, gentle and mild
Starlight twinkling, long into the night
Dawns a morning washed in icy, silver light
Starlight twinkling, Earth's celestial mate
A silent sentinel witness to our fate

Seasons

Spring's warm smile is sweet and gentle
Smoothing away the harsh lines of winter
Deep flowing rivers and cool shallow streams
A cold earth awakens renewing its dream

Crisp clear mornings and warm sunny days
Brilliant afternoons that are sure to amaze
Heavenly scents of both field and bloom
Arise from winter's long slumber of gloom

Blistering hot breeze; sticky dense air
Summer's heated blast arrives without a care
Warm sullen mornings break free from the night
Lazy blue dragonflies arouse and take flight

Baked by the sun the day's end is near
Exploding thunder burst and lightning's spear
Flooding torrent surrenders to gurgling stream
Pleasing trickles play as the moonlight gleams

Autumn's chilly evenings are audaciously bold
Orange burnt leaves cringing in the cold
Like scarlet flames that light up the sky
Falling to the earth in a hushed, heavy sigh

Long stormy nights plunder the trees
Undressing their limbs with a mighty breeze
Crisp and cool the air settles in
The shadows of summer come to an end

Bubbling blue streams are frozen cold
Winter's icy bite has taken hold
Baring the fields; birds take flight
Soaring towards the sun into fading daylight

Endless twilight bitter and gray
As the yawning night takes the day
Earth frosted over until the spring
When flocks return upon sun-warmed wings
